show Abstracthide AbstractT. mercedesae is one of major prevalent ectoparasitic mite infesting honey bees in Asia. We sequenced the genome and transcriptomes of T. mercedesae to provide insights into the ensory system, development, sex determination/differentiation, reproduction, and the capability to acquire miticide (for example, tau-fluvalinate and flumethrin) resistance and understand how the mite has evolved under a very specialized environment - inside the honey bee colony by depending on the honey bee as the sole host.
